Bio

Brody Bates is a Kansas City based drummer whose musical journey began at an early age, tapping out beats as an infant.  It was clear to those around him that music was not just a hobby for Brody, but a part of who he is.  Brody has a wide range of genres he performs thanks to years of training with some of the best drummers in the industry including Go-Go Ray and Jason Dean, among others.  His formal training began at School of Rock where he learned drums, bass, guitar, and keys.  Meanwhile, Brody was classically trained on cello and symphonic percussion at his elementary and middle school. Once reaching high school, Brody played snare in the drum line, while playing both bass and drums for the jazz band.

 

The drumming style of Brody is not only recognized for his dynamic personality and showmanship on stage, but also for his exceptional ability to lead a band. He captivates audiences with his entertaining performances while effortlessly holding down the groove. His quick fills inject energy into each song, showcasing his technical skill and making every performance a memorable experience for fans.

 

Brody’s professional career officially began in 2020, at the young age of 13, when he was hired to record the drum track and perform for an Intel commercial.  Since that time, he has continued to perform and enjoys working with artists as a session drummer.  In 2022, Brody formed his own band, Circle Drive, where he was introduced to the business side of live music.  His band had immediate success that included recording original music, headlining shows, and winning the 2023 American Royal BBQ Battle of the Bands.  In 2024, Brody joined Nashville recording artist Jimmy Harris.  The Jimmy Harris Band continues to gain popularity across the midwest and they are looking forward to expanding their reach in 2025.
